What is a Social Forum?A social forum is a gathering of civil society to imagine an alternative future. Participants are diverse and are drawn from non-governmental, social movements and other non-partisan organizations. The activists resist the neoliberal corporate agenda in favour of more just and equitable systems for youth, workers, persons living in poverty, the differently abled, women, Indigenous peoples and others. Naomi Klein has called the World Social Forum a movement of "one no and many yeses" reflecting unity in what we oppose. |
